What is Connect WhatsApp?

Before you can send messages through Waplify, you need to connect your WhatsApp Business number. This links your phone number to the WhatsApp Business API through Meta (Facebook), allowing Waplify to send and receive messages on your behalf.

How to use it

What you need before starting

  • A Meta Business Portfolio account (previously called Facebook Business Manager)
  • A phone number that is currently connected to the WhatsApp Business App
  • Access to the phone to complete verification

Step-by-step setup

  1. Log in to Waplify and you will see the Get Started checklist on your dashboard
  1. Click Connect Number — a Meta popup will open
  2. Log in with your Facebook account and select your Meta Business Portfolio
  1. Choose to connect your existing WhatsApp Business App
  2. Enter your phone number, scan the QR code from your WhatsApp Business App, and complete the setup
  1. Once connected, your phone number will appear in the dashboard

Your personal WhatsApp chats are not affected. The process takes about 2-3 minutes.

Tips & best practices

  • Make sure your phone number is already set up on the WhatsApp Business App (not regular WhatsApp) before connecting
  • If you have multiple business numbers, you can connect additional numbers later from the Settings > WhatsApp page
  • Keep your Meta Business Portfolio access handy — you will need it for several setup steps
  • After connecting, you can check your number's status, quality rating, and messaging tier from the dashboard

Frequently asked questions

Will connecting affect my existing WhatsApp chats?

No. Your personal and existing business chats remain untouched. Waplify connects through the WhatsApp Business API, which operates separately.

Can I connect more than one phone number?

Yes, you can connect multiple WhatsApp Business numbers to your Waplify account. You can switch between them when creating campaigns.

What if the Meta popup doesn't open?

Make sure you have pop-ups enabled in your browser for app.waplify.com. Also try using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge for the best experience.

Do I need a Facebook page to connect?

You need a Meta Business Portfolio account. A Facebook page is not required, but your business must be registered on Meta's platform. You can create one at business.facebook.com.

What happens if I disconnect my number?

If you disconnect your number, you will no longer be able to send or receive messages through Waplify until you reconnect. Your existing campaign data and contacts will remain safe.
