Add Payment Method on Meta

What is Add Payment Method?

WhatsApp charges a small fee for each business message you send. These charges go directly to Meta (Facebook) — not to Waplify. To send messages, you need to add a payment method on Meta's billing portal.

How to use it

What you need

  • A credit or debit card (only Visa or Mastercard are accepted)
  • Have a backup card ready — Meta may not accept cards from certain banks
  • Your business details (including your tax registration number like GST, if applicable in your country)
caution

Meta does not accept UPI, net banking, or similar payment methods. Only Visa and Mastercard credit/debit cards are supported.

Step-by-step setup

  1. On your Waplify dashboard, find the Get Started checklist
  2. Click Add Payment on Step 2 — Meta's billing page opens in a new tab
  1. Log in to your Meta Business account if prompted
  2. Click Add Payment Method and enter your card details
  3. Fill in your business details properly — if you have a GST number, make sure to enter it correctly
  1. Save your payment method
  2. Come back to Waplify and click I've added payment to confirm
info

This is a post-paid billing model — Meta charges you only for what you use. Payment goes directly to Meta for WhatsApp messaging costs. Waplify charges zero markup on messaging fees.

Tips & best practices

  • If one card is rejected, try a different bank's card — this is a common issue with Meta's payment system
  • Make sure your GST number is entered correctly to avoid tax-related issues later
  • You can check your Meta billing and usage anytime from Meta's billing hub
  • The payment method on Meta is separate from your Waplify subscription — they are two different charges

Frequently asked questions

How much does WhatsApp messaging cost?

WhatsApp charges per conversation (not per message). Pricing varies by country and conversation type (marketing, utility, authentication). Check Meta's pricing page for current rates.

Does Waplify charge me separately for messages?

No. Waplify does not add any markup on WhatsApp messaging costs. The charges go directly from Meta to your payment method.

Why was my card rejected?

Meta has strict payment processor requirements. Some bank-issued cards may not be accepted. Try a different card from a different bank, preferably a Visa or Mastercard credit card.

Can I change my payment method later?

Yes. You can update your payment method anytime from Meta's billing hub at business.facebook.com.

What happens if my payment fails?

If your payment method fails, Meta will pause your ability to send messages until the payment is resolved. Your Waplify account and data will remain unaffected.
