Commerce Is Now an App You Switch On, and Settings Has a New Home

Selling on WhatsApp is not for every business, so Commerce no longer sits in everyone's menu whether they want it or not. It is now an app you install, on a rebuilt Apps & Integrations page. It is free, included in every plan, and off until you turn it on.

Apps and Integrations are different things

Settings → Connectors is now Apps & Integrations, and it splits into two sections, because these were never the same thing:

  • Apps are parts of Waplify you switch on and off. No account, no login, nothing to connect. Commerce is the first one.
  • Integrations are outside tools you connect to Waplify, like Google Sheets or IndiaMART. Those need an account and a connection.

Lumping them together meant "connect" could mean either "turn on a Waplify feature" or "log in to a third party", which are very different actions.

Installing Commerce

Find Commerce under Apps and install it. The Commerce section appears in your menu straight away, with its catalog, products, orders, payments and settings.

Uninstalling hides all of it again. Before it does, Waplify shows you what will be affected - the flows and campaigns that use commerce blocks or commerce templates - so you are not guessing what you are about to hide.

Uninstalling does not delete anything. Your catalog link, your orders, your payment records and your templates all stay exactly as they are. Install it again and everything is where you left it.

It is called Commerce now

The feature was labelled "Ecommerce" in some places and "Commerce" in others. It is Commerce everywhere now: the menu, the template builder, the badges on template cards, and the settings pages.

Linking a catalog actually explains itself

Connecting a product catalog is genuinely three steps, and two of them happen on Meta's side. The old screen did not say that, so people linked a catalog in Waplify, saw no products in their messages, and had no idea why.

The setup now walks the three steps in order and is honest about the one that trips everyone up: connecting the catalog to your WhatsApp number has to be done in WhatsApp Manager, under Account tools › Catalog. Meta does not let Waplify - or any other tool - do it for you.

Commerce settings is also split into two clear tracks now, catalog and payments, instead of one long page mixing them.

See Connect Your Product Catalog.

Good to know

  • Commerce is free and in every plan. Installing it costs nothing.
  • It starts uninstalled for everyone, including accounts that had it before, so nobody suddenly gains a menu section they did not ask for.
  • Installing and uninstalling is limited to owners and admins.
