Carousel Media, Offer Buttons, and File Uploads in Forms

Your messages just got richer: a different image or video on every carousel card, countdown offer buttons that create urgency, and photo and document uploads inside WhatsApp Forms.

Carousel templates let you show several products in one swipeable message. Now each card can carry its own image or video instead of sharing one picture across the whole set.

  • Upload media per card while building the template — card one shows the sofa, card two shows the dining table, card three shows the bed.
  • Works everywhere carousels do: campaigns, sequences, and chatbot flows.
  • The preview updates as you go, so you see exactly what the customer will swipe through before you send it.

This is the closest thing WhatsApp has to a shop window — use it for new arrivals, a menu, a property list, or a service lineup.

Limited-time offer buttons​

You can now send templates with a limited-time offer — WhatsApp shows a live countdown on the message itself, and the offer button disappears when the timer runs out.

Paired with dynamic buttons, whose link changes per contact, you can send one campaign where every customer gets their own coupon code or personalised checkout link, wrapped in a deadline they can actually see ticking.

Genuine urgency, without you having to chase anyone.

Ask for photos and documents in a form​

WhatsApp Forms can now collect files, not just typed answers.

  • Add a Photo question — customers attach pictures straight from their camera or gallery.
  • Add a Document question — for PDFs, receipts, ID copies, prescriptions, or quotes.
  • Set how many files they can attach and the maximum size, so nobody sends you forty photos by accident.

This unlocks the jobs businesses were doing by hand before: damage photos for a claim, a measurement photo before a quote, proof of payment, a signed document, a prescription upload.

Uploaded files show up in your form submissions alongside the typed answers. Photos appear as thumbnails you can open full-size, and documents can be downloaded in one click — no hunting through the chat to find the attachment.

Cleaner template variables​

One small fix with a big payoff: the template editor now stops you mixing numbered variables ({{1}}) with named ones ({{first_name}}) in the same template. That combination was a common reason for templates being rejected by Meta or sending with blank gaps. Now it's caught while you're writing, not after approval fails.
